Studio History

Back in 2004, Kathy searched for an age-appropriate music program for her son David and realized that the Wake Forest community needed Kindermusik! Lots of families agreed! She originally rolled out the schedule offering 1 day of classes. Those classes filled in less than one week, with requests for more. So she added a second day of classes, which also filled.

Initially, Kathy taught and directed the program single-handedly. It was a joyful, exhausting, fulfilling experience. Yet to maintain her dedication to her 2 young children at home and continue to meet the demands of the community, she hired second teacher, Lisa Upchurch. The community continued to ask for more classes on more days. In 2006, Leena Taimela joined the team. In fall of 2007, Tara Verunac joined the awesome Wake Forest team to continue to bring the most engaging, joyful age-appropriate music and movement classes in the area!

We would love to share our joyful, educational classes with you and your child.

Our Philosophy

With a genuine love and respect for babies, young children & their families, we believe that:

~Every parent is the child's most important teacher.

~Every child is musical.

~The home is the most important learning environment.

~Music nurtures a child's cognitive, emotional, social, language, and physical development.

~Every child should experience the joy, fun, and learning which music brings to life.

We are dedicated to facilitating joyful, engaging classroom experiences where parents are empowered to nurture their unique child's individual gifts and talents.
